    Scoring follows the Amended Codes of Good Practice (Gazette 36928 of 2013) with the 2019 Skills Development and ESD amendments (Gazette 42496). Points are awarded proportionally against each target and capped at the maximum for that line. Level thresholds: Level 1 at 100+ points down to Level 8 at 40, non-compliant below 40.

    Where the calculator simplifies: Management Control targets are adjusted to the Economically Active Population (EAP) and vary by province and sector, so those lines use standard national reference targets and should be treated as approximate. Ownership net value in reality involves an acquisition-debt deduction and a target that rises from 10% to 25% over ten years, here it is compared against the mature 25% target. Preferential Procurement uses indicative internal weightings; confirm the exact sub-line split with your verification agency. Draft 2026 amendments to ESD were not yet law at the time of build and are not reflected.
